For Cavelume, the offline cave deduction puzzle for Android

Application ID: com.deepdig.cavelume

Languages: Slovenian and English  ·  In effect from: 10 September 2026

Cavelume collects no personal data. There is no account, no advertising, no analytics, no crash reporting and nothing to buy; the game requests no Android permissions and never opens a network connection. What follows explains what that means in practice.

Who is responsible

one company, one address

Cavelume is made and published by AP Competition d.o.o., a company registered in Slovenia, which releases its apps under the name MoonCedar Technologies. Under the General Data Protection Regulation that company would be the controller for any personal data the game processed. It processes none, so the role has nothing to attach to.

What is saved on the device

your caves and your records, nothing else

So that a half-cleared cave is waiting when you return and the records screen has something to show, Cavelume writes a small file into its own private storage on your phone:

None of this identifies you. No name, email address, phone number, contact list, photo, location, advertising identifier or device identifier is involved at any point. The file never leaves the phone, and we never see it.

The caves are generated on your phone

no puzzle server, no shared seeds

Every board — square or hex, every size and hazard density — is generated by the app on the device when you start it. Nothing is downloaded, no daily puzzle is fetched, and no seed or solution is exchanged with anyone. The detector works the same way: it reasons over the board in front of you, in memory, and forgets the working the moment it has answered.

What is deliberately absent

no adverts, no purchases, no measurement

No advertising library, so no advert appears between caves, none is required to use the detector, and no advertising profile is built from how you play. No analytics library and no crash reporter, so no usage events, session logs or crash traces are gathered or transmitted — we do not know your best clears or which density defeats you. No billing library, so hints, detectors and revives cannot be bought and no payment data exists. No account system and no leaderboard, so your records stay on your phone and nobody else, us included, can see them.

Cavelume also requests no Android runtime permissions at all: not camera, microphone, location, contacts, storage or notifications.

Network use

none, in either language

The whole game, in Slovenian and English, is compiled into the download, so it opens no connection to our servers or to anyone else's and behaves identically in aeroplane mode. Because nothing is sent, nothing can be intercepted; because nothing is received, no behaviour can be switched on remotely after you install it.

The one company involved anyway

Google, and only through the store

Cavelume is distributed through Google Play, so installing or updating it is a transaction between you and Google, handled under Google's own privacy policy and its agreement with you. What comes back to us is the aggregated, anonymous view in the developer console — install counts, ratings, country totals — which cannot be traced to an individual player.

If a future version of Cavelume ever includes anything that touches the network, this page will be rewritten before that version is published, and the change will be described plainly rather than added quietly.

Younger players

nothing to send, nothing to spend

Cavelume is a logic puzzle suitable for all ages. Because it collects no personal data from anyone, it collects none from children either, and there is nothing in it — no adverts, no chat, no sharing, no outbound links, nothing to buy — through which a child could send information anywhere or spend money.

If you are a parent, guardian or teacher and something appears to behave differently from what is described here, please write to us and we will look into it straight away.

Your rights, and clearing your records

GDPR and ZVOP-2, with nothing to act on

The General Data Protection Regulation and Slovenia's Personal Data Protection Act (ZVOP-2) give you the right to ask whether your personal data is processed, to obtain a copy, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to processing, and to complain to a supervisory authority. Every one of those rights needs data to bite on, and we hold none of yours — ask and we will confirm that in writing for your records.

What does exist is the save file on your phone, and it answers only to you: reset progress inside the app, clear the app's data in Android settings, or uninstall Cavelume and the file goes with it. No copy survives anywhere else, because none was ever made.

Complaints may be addressed to the Slovenian Information Commissioner (Informacijski pooblaščenec, ip-rs.si) or to the supervisory authority where you live, though writing to us first usually settles things faster.

Changes, and how to reach us

one inbox, read by the developer

This page is updated only when the game changes in a way that affects privacy, and the date near the top changes with it. Builds you have already installed keep behaving exactly as they do today.

Questions about this policy, a cave that looks unsolvable, or a detector that fires oddly: cedar@apcompetition.live. Replies usually come within a couple of days. Pišete lahko tudi v slovenščini.

This policy covers the Android application Cavelume (com.deepdig.cavelume) and no other software.
